Piano for Students with Special Needs

Students with special needs are very welcome at my studio. As much as the student will be learning from me, I will be learning from them to find engaging and safe ways to bring out their inner musician. The more that parents can share with me about behaviours, what to be aware of, what to avoid doing, etc., the more I can be prepared and provide a positive learning experience.

Learning and behavioural challenges aren’t barriers to playing the piano.

If a student has difficulty with reading, I won’t design our lessons to focus too heavily on reading music. There is so much more we can explore in areas such as rhythm, musical story telling and improvisation, just to name a few!

Let’s have a chat and see what we can do to make learning the piano a rewarding activity for your child.
